Whether you are a man or a woman with faith in yourself, that curse applies to you. Faith in self and pride are inseparable. Faith in God and humility are also inseparable. Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?The Apostle Paul was wise enough and humble enough to have zero faith in his own flesh and zero faith in the flesh of other men. Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
The Apostle Paul knew he was saved and he knew that his flesh did not get saved. We must know those things about ourselves too. |
